Creating
The Salt Of The Earth Salt Lamps
After a worldwide search we ended up at the foothills of the mighty Himalayas
in Pakistan where we found Salt with the broadest
range of colors and natural striations that
we could have imagined. From off White to Light
Pink, from Peach to deep shades of Orange and
even to Crimson Red, a veritable rainbow in
terms of the more bland colors of Salt we had
seen elsewhere. The great variance in colors
helps us make every Salt Lamp Creations Salt
Lamp, and Salt Tea Light, a unique piece of
Natural Art.
An added bonus to these colorations is that
Himalayan Salt is unlike any other Salt we have
ever encountered as it glimmers when hand chipped
and glistens when lit from within. Many Himalayan
Salt Lamp companies pressure wash the salt
lamps after they have been carved.
This creates an almost plastic like finish to
the water absorbent Salt Crystal. You might
notice our lamps have a small amount of what
appears as powdered Salt on the exterior. When
illuminated you will be amazed at how this "residue"
sparkles!
The Natural Salt used to produce our Salt Of The Earth Lamps comes from the
mines in Khewra and the Gola Valley, used since
the days of Alexander the Great. From deep below
the surface of The Himalayas, the Salt is removed
in large pieces weighing up to 1000 pounds each.
The Mined Salt is separated by Size, Color and
Quality
A hole is then drilled to accommodate
either the Light Bulb or Candle
The cored Salt is given a preliminary inspection,
a quick wash, and sorted again
Mounting our exclusive EZ-Change Light AssemblyT
to the bottom of the Base gives you a safe, quick
and efficient way to remove and replace the Light
Bulb. We encourage you to compare these to other
lamps available in the marketplace.
The
lamps are given a final inspection, wrapped
and boxed for delivery to the USA.
